A cohort of 14 university staff completed the institution's first-ever Sustainability Leadership Program, designed to grow leaders, build community, and create positive change. U Guelph Divest From Fossil Fuels

The university recently completed its divestment from fossil fuel companies in its endowment portfolio, fulfilling a five-year, fossil-free divestment goal that began in April 2020. It achieved a 74 percent reduction in the weighted average carbon intensity of its investment portfolio since it began tracking this metric in 2018.

U Wolverhampton Intiaties Decarbonization Project

The university's new $14.7 million ($11 million British pounds) decarbonization effort includes replacing gas-fired equipment and end of life boilers with an air-to-water heat pump system, recovering chilled water, and installing photovoltaics and a network of district heating pipes that will supply low carbon heat. A living lab will also be established, allowing academics and students to study the impacts of the heat pump technology, solar and energy conservation measures.
